Frequently Asked Questions
What is the EcoCard Laptop Initiative?
The EcoCard Laptop Initiative is a program designed to provide affordable laptop computers to secondary school students in Uganda, bridging the digital divide and enhancing educational opportunities through technology access.
How does the payment plan work?
We offer two payment options: a one-time full payment or a three-phase installment plan. The installment plan allows parents to spread the cost over time, making the laptops more accessible to families across different income levels.
What happens if the laptop gets damaged?
All laptops come with a one-year insurance and maintenance plan at no extra cost. This covers most repairs and replacements for accidental damage. After the first year, parents can choose to extend the coverage for a small fee.
How is internet access controlled?
The laptops are configured with controlled Wi-Fi access that prioritizes educational websites and resources. This ensures students use the laptops primarily for learning while still having access to necessary online tools.
What are the holiday e-learning programs?
During school holidays, we offer structured e-learning courses and creative project challenges. These programs keep students engaged with their laptops in productive ways, developing skills in coding, digital design, research, and more.
